Эссе по английскому «It is better to read a book than to watch its film version»
Nowadays, more and more people neglect books and prefer watching their film versions. The question is whether it is a positive tendency or not.
In my opinion, it is better to watch films versions than to read books. Firstly, books may be too long, especially novels. You may spend long hours to read a novel up to the end. But films are a different matter. It takes you one or one and a half hour to be through a film and get to know the whole story. Time is a valuable resource you should not waste. Secondly, films have impressive visual effects that help us to get into the spirit of events and to understand the plot much better. Books lack visuality. Thirdly, when watching a film you can do other things at the same time. It saves time, too.
But there are people who do not attach much importance to films versions and prefer reading books. They say reading makes people think and develops their imagination.
Nevertheless, I cannot hold with the foregoing statements because I am convinced that thinking and imagination can be developed in many ways including good films. If you watch a film and try to make sense of it, your mind develops and you personally grow.
In conclusion, I would like to say that film industry is above printing books, and in the end, filmmaking will beat book publishing. You cannot resist the inevitable progress, and you should not urge people on reading books and prevent them from watching film versions.
